  2. Register for your courses via UNCGenie per the university registration calendar.
  3. Pay for your courses when you register through the Cashiers Office or through UNCGenie. The amount due can be determined by viewing account charges on the Student Account Center.

Visiting

Students

To apply, you MUST create a SpartanLink account. Click here.

  1. Complete the​ ​visiting student admissions form.
  2. Generation of your Student ID will take approximately 5–7 business days after submitting your form.
  3. Download the instructions for registering online.
  4. Register for your courses via UNCGenie.
  5. Pay for your courses when you register through the Cashiers Office or through UNCGenie. The amount due can be determined by viewing account charges on the Student Account Center.
  6. Activate your Canvas account. If you do not activate your Canvas account you will be unable to participate in your course or communicate with your instructor.

Former

UNCG Students
  1. Apply for reactivation through the Admissions Office.
  2. Once you receive notification of readmission, read the instructions for registering online.
  3. Register for your courses via UNCGenie.
  4. Pay for your courses when you register through the Cashiers Office or through UNCGenie. The amount due can be determined by viewing account charges on the Student Account Center.

Residency

N.C. Residency Determination

As of February 2017, the N.C. Residency Determination Service is the entity responsible for all classifications of residency for tuition purposes in North Carolina. Residency classification for tuition purposes determines in-state or out-of-state status and may impact admission, tuition, scholarship, or financial aid eligibility. All Students

Drop/Add Policy

You may drop courses without grade penalty through the mid-point of the course. Be sure to drop any course you decide not to take. Otherwise, you will receive an “F” on your official transcripts. For drop/add deadlines, consult our Important Dates page. Visit the Registrar’s page for more details on dropping or adding courses.

Closed Courses

During the registration period a number of courses will reach enrollment limits and close. To register for classes that have closed. The registration system maintains waiting lists for some courses, on a department-by-department basis.

Course Load

You may register for up to 14 semester hours during the entire Summer Session (7 semester hours per individual session). You can request an increased load with your advisor or the Graduate School. Undergraduate students enrolling for special short courses will not be permitted to enroll simultaneously for other summer study without official authorization.
